Is the quote really free?

What is the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?
Bound mixes aggregate through the resin and trowels it smooth: permeable and seamless, ideal for drives. Bonded scatters stone onto a resin film: textured, high-grip and non-permeable, best for slopes. Full comparison in the bound vs bonded guide.
How much does a resin driveway cost in Teesside?
Resin bound runs £70 to £120/m² supplied and laid, so £2,800 to £6,000 for a typical two-car drive. Overlays onto sound bases: £55 to £95/m². Resin bonded: £50 to £85/m².
Does a resin drive need planning permission?
Resin bound is permeable and exempt from the 5m² front-garden rule. Resin bonded is non-permeable, so it needs drainage to a lawn or border to stay exempt. New dropped kerbs always need council approval.
How long does a resin driveway last?
Resin bound: 15 to 25 years with UV-stable resin on a proper porous base. Resin bonded: 8 to 15 years. Non-UV resin can fail visibly within two to three years, so the resin type belongs in the written quote.
Can resin go over my existing drive?
Yes, over sound, crack-free tarmac or concrete. Any movement in the old base prints through as cracks, so the base gets an honest assessment at survey before overlay is quoted.
Is resin slippery in winter?
The textured aggregate gives good grip, and permeable bound surfaces carry less standing water to freeze. For sloped drives, resin bonded's rougher scatter finish gives the best traction, and anti-slip additive can be mixed into either.
Can resin be laid in winter on Teesside?
Only within limits. Resin will not cure below about 5°C or onto a damp base, so honest installers pause in cold wet spells. Spring through autumn is the reliable laying season here.
